Jim is a seasoned commercial banking leader, with more than 35 years of experience, who leverages deep expertise across credit, lending, operations, and executive leadership to counsel Artisan clients. His career spans both sides of the banking table—from guiding clients through complex commercial transactions to steering institutions through periods of transition and growth. Jim has held senior executive and board-level positions, where he has strengthened organizations, elevated teams, and delivered practical, relationship-driven solutions.

Jim’s background includes more than 30 years as a commercial banker at institutions such as Evergreen Bank Group, Oak Brook Bank (now Fifth Third Bank), and Citibank. He also served as interim president/CEO and board member for Baytree Bank and Baytree Financial Group during a turnaround, which led to a successful sale of the bank and its equipment leasing subsidiary. His career reflects a deep commitment to helping community institutions thrive through credit discipline, operational improvement, and leadership development.

Jim holds an MBA in Finance from DePaul University’s Driehaus College of Business and a BS in Business Finance from Eastern Illinois University.
