A renowned financial executive, industry innovator and community leader with more than 45 years of experience in community banking, Tommy’s expansive career has found him in nearly every aspect of banking, including an array of executive and board positions that have encompassed operations, compliance, community development, retail banking and mortgage lending. A recognized leader who both led Talmer Bank and Trust, a $10 billion publicly traded community bank, and launched and led MB Financial Community Development Corporation (MBCDC), a $4 million equity subsidiary of MB Financial Bank, Tommy brings an unparalleled depth and breadth of experience to Artisan Advisors and the clients he serves.

Counting consumer and commercial policy development, process management, oversight and controls, consumer lending, as well as commercial and industrial lending product development among his specialties, Tommy advises bank executives on a host of critical banking issues. Actively involved in the banking community, at large, he served a three-year term as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Bank Consumer Advisory Council and sat on the committee reviewing the Community Reinvestment Act and Consumer Compliance Issues.

Tommy’s dedication to his community is equally compelling, as he serves on a number of boards and committees for organizations like the NeighborWorks® Capital Corporation, The House of the Good Shepherd shelter for women, and the Chicago Community Loan Fund, among others. As a former adjunct Professor of Real Estate Finance at the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University, School of Commerce, and a decorated Naval combat veteran, Tommy draws on a wealth of life experience in his consulting work. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Minnesota.
